Electronics Reliability Engineer Opportunity in Edmonton

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Reliability Engineer located in Edmonton, AB, with flexibility for some remote work. The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for performing day-to-day tasks such as reliability engineering, troubleshooting, failure analysis, and utilizing analytical skills. They will also focus on reliability-centered maintenance to optimize operational efficiency and minimize downtime.

Some of the duties are as below:

  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability
  • Create and maintain schematics for machinery and systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment performance
  • Perform the Reliability Analysis of various power electronics products for different mission profiles, including DMA (Design Margin Analysis), FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis) and FTA (Fault Tree Analysis).
  • Perform ULA (Useful Life Analysis) and SLA (Shelf Life Analysis) in collaboration with the Design Team.
  • Work closely with the Design Team and other key stakeholders (e.g. Supply Chain, manufacturers, suppliers) in getting the required information with a focus on useful life, shelf life, failure mechanisms, etc.
  • Drive the Reliability and Certification Test strategy and drive the tests to completion.
  • Assess the Reliability and Certification Test results and drive for product reliability improvements.
  • Advise the development teams on reliability and certification standards compliance.
  • Engage with third-party testing labs to plan, execute, and successfully complete independent product certification.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a Power Electronics environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Electronic test strategies.
  • And if you’re familiar with motor control, all the better.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
